Journal entry to my son; yes, lots of extra garage time, it gets so hot 🥵 and we need a little bit of shaded space. We need a little space to workout, hit the heavy bag, and repeat. The back yard is extra hot so this was an important win for your our space. Cleaning and organizing the garage… why do we do it? So.. in life we are constantly shifting and evolving, always leaning towards the things we can’t have, avoiding our toxic internal voices, procrastination and pushing for a better tomorrow. It can be an easy day or it can be a hard day. You decide daily which direction to go.
It can be a selfish journey or a selfless journey. What is your goal today? Is your journey today aimed at self fulfillment or is it a selfless pursuit? Helping others? Or taking time to yourself to reflect and listen to the vast nothingness around you?

so awhile ago we were going to move to Dallas, then we were going to move to Houston, then we decided we are not going to do any of that… the amount of packing we did during your childhood and traveling on business trips to Houston or Dallas, seems fun but it was exhausting.
Eventually these things get old, traveling is a lot is fun but it makes you a hardened person in the sense that it starts to eat away at your body and self. Yes, eventually you just want to settle down and relax. You want to see your hard work payoff but sometimes you just gotta automate yourself out of the job and say “it’s time to learn something new.” I’d like for you to use that abstractly for whatever it is you’re into optimizing. I know it doesn’t have to be tech or code, I do know you like to solve problems like your mom and your dad.
When you get older, be flexible to making things easy for others before you put yourself first and good things will keep happening and going your way. There’s an unreal amount of positive motion in our world, don’t get stuck on the problems you can’t solve today, focus on what you can solve tomorrow. There’s a lot of distractions in life, don’t fall into the usual routine as your peers if you don’t want to be like them. #wp
