Bruce Springsteen says ‘monster’ peptic ulcer is ‘rocking’ his internal world

Bruce Springsteen has offered an update on the stomach ailment that caused him to postpone his tour.

The Boss recently opened an episode of his SiriusXM E Street Radio show “From My Home to Yours” by introducing himself as “your favorite rock star with a b***h of a bellyache!”

He later thanked his supporters as he grapples with the painful illness.

“Let me take a moment and thank my fans affected by our postponed shows for their understanding,” Springsteen said. “I am deeply sorry but this belly thing, despite my ability to laugh at it, has been a monster and is still unfortunately rocking my internal world.”

Springsteen, 74, released a statement last month stating that he continued to “recover steadily from peptic ulcer disease over the past few weeks and will continue treatment through the rest of the year on doctor’s advice.”

“With this in mind, and out of an abundance of caution, all remaining 2023 tour dates for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will be postponed until 2024,” the statement read.

Springsteen had also had to postpone some earlier shows with his E Street Band. He had kicked off a tour in February, his first in the US since 2016.

Travis Kelce’s ex Kayla Nicole speaks out against ‘backlash and embarrassment’ she’s experienced

As speculation continues regarding the nature of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s relationship, his ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole speaking out about “backlash and embarrassment” she has recently experienced.

“It’s always been really important for me to use my platform, not to create division, but to elevate and unite women, Black women specifically,” the fitness influencer and sports reporter said in a video shared on her verified Instagram Tuesday.

“Dear Black girl, they may call you a traitor for falling in love. You’ll hope the ones closest will protect you, but you will quickly find out that people don’t protect what they don’t value,” Nicole said. “They’ll say you’re too much, too provocative, too boisterous, too outspoken, and in the same breath, tell you that you aren’t enough. They’ll say you deserve the backlash and embarrassment. Because of your Blackness, you should have known better.”

She went on to talk about knowing one’s value, adding, “You don’t have to participate in this tumultuous, often one-sided journey.”

Nicole said she wanted others to know they are not alone.

“My truth, trauma, and vulnerability are a relatable part of the human experience,” she said. “I know I’m not alone and I want to make sure you know that you’re not either. On days when I feel most inadequate, I have to remind myself that I am, have been, and will always be more than enough.”

Kelce and Nicole began dating in 2017. In January, Kelce revealed during an interview with The Pivot that he was single again.

He denied that he and Nicole broke up over finances, specifically that he refused to help her financially.

“I would never say that I was supporting her,” he said. “She had a very financially stable life and what she was doing in her career.”

Holly Willoughby leaves ‘This Morning’ after reportedly being targeted in alleged kidnap and murder plot

Popular British television host Holly Willoughby has announced she is stepping away from the ITV program “This Morning,” after she was reportedly the target of an alleged kidnapping and murder plot.

“I’ve let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to ‘This Morning,’” Willoughby wrote in a post shared on Instagram Tuesday.

She continued: “To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so so much. This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we’ve done together.”

Willoughby thanked her co-workers, the show’s guests, and the viewers, calling them “the very best company every day.”

“I know this story has many chapters left to go. Sadly, however, I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family,” she concluded, adding, “I will miss you all so much.”

She made no mention of the alleged plot against her. A British man was charged last week with soliciting to commit murder and incitement to commit kidnap, according to The Guardian.

Willoughby had been off air since Thursday while the investigation unfolded.

ITV’s Managing Director, Media and Entertainment, Kevin Lygo said in a statement that the network is sad to see Willoughby go.

“We are sad that Holly is leaving This Morning, but respect her decision which we know will have been extremely difficult for her to make,” he said. “Holly is one of the best loved, respected and most accomplished broadcasters in the UK. She has been at the heart of This Morning for the past 14 years, and she is adored by our viewers.

He concluded: “Holly has brought her unique brand of warmth, energy, humour and fun to one of the country’s most popular daytime shows, and everyone on the programme will miss her enormously. She remains a much loved member of the ITV family and we look forward to continuing to work with her in the future.”

Chris Rock allegedly asked Jada Pinkett Smith out on a date amid divorce rumors

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith’s marriage has been a topic of interest for many in recent years, even to Chris Rock, according to Pinkett Smith.

“Every summer all the reports would come out that me and Will were getting a divorce,” Pinkett Smith told People magazine. “And this particular summer, Chris [Rock], he thought that we were getting a divorce. So he called me and basically he was like, ‘I’d love to take you out.’”

Pinkett Smith said she was taken aback by the call.

“I was like, ‘What do you mean?’ He was like, ‘Well, aren’t you and Will getting a divorce?’ I was like, ‘No. Chris, those are just rumors,’” Pinket Smith recalled. “He was appalled. And he profusely apologized and that was that.”

CNN has reached out to representatives for Rock for comment.

Pinkett Smith writes about the encounter in her forthcoming memoir, “Worthy.”

Her husband, Will Smith, slapped Rock as he was presenting an award during the 2022 Oscars telecast after Rock made a joke about Pinkett Smith being bald. She suffers from alopecia, which has caused her hair loss.

Pinkett Smith told People that she believed there had been a “misunderstanding between Chris and I as far as the 2016 Oscars.”

That year Rock was hosting the awards show and Pinkett Smith called for a boycott as part of the #OscarsSoWhite movement after her husband was overlooked for a nomination for his performance in “Concussion.”

She now says she may not have been aware of the “level of pressure” Rock may have been under at the time.

“I probably should have called him and gone, ‘Hey, are you okay?,’” she said. “And just know that although I’m speaking out about the Oscars, I do wish you the best and I just want you to know that,’ me taking the time to have called him and said that, just to touch base. But his feelings might’ve been hurt.”

The pair spoke and apologized to each other after the 2016 incident, she said.

Pinkett Smith said Rock tried to talk to her during a break in the 2022 Oscars ceremony following the slap in an attempt to apologize to her.

“He said, ‘I didn’t mean you any harm.’ I said, ‘I can’t talk about this now, Chris. This is some old s**t,’” she told People. “I thought this was [about] the Oscar 2016 and … their stuff that they had before I even came into the picture in the late ’80s. I’ve got to leave that to Will and Chris to talk about, but they got their stuff for sure.”

Her memoir is set to be published Oct. 17.

Chrissy Metz, ‘This Is Us’ star, and Bradley Collins split

“This is Us” star Chrissy Metz and her boyfriend of more than three years, Bradley Collins, are parting ways.

The pair shared the news via a joint Instagram post.

“After three and a half years together, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship amicably. While we continue to love each other very much, we believe this is the best path for us both,” the post reads. “We still have books to write, songs to sing and a special friendship to keep us in each other’s lives forever.”

In 2021 Metz revealed on “Today” that they had met during the height of the pandemic via the dating app Bumble, though they traveled in similar circles.

“It was very unexpected. It’s funny because we know all the same people. We have all the same friends and we’ve been in the same rooms before, but we’ve never connected, so it was interesting,” Metz said at the time. “We really got a chance to know each other because you can’t get to smooching too soon when you’re social-distance dating. It’s helpful, guys. Get to know the person you’re dating.”

They co-authored a children’s book together titled “When I Talk To God, I Talk About You,” which was released earlier this year.

Greta Gerwig says she snuck into ‘Barbie’ screenings to see audience reaction

“Barbie” writer/director Greta Gerwig wanted to get reaction to her film in real time.

Gerwig hit theaters during the blockbuster film’s opening weekend in July, where she revealed she would stand in the back to observe audiences reacting to the movie.

“I went around to different theaters and sort of stood in the back, and would then also turn up the volume if I felt it wasn’t playing at the perfect level,” she said at a panel talk at the BFI London Film Festival, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Gerwig added that making the movie was “the most joyful” time she’s ever had on a set.”So, I thought, if I can make a movie that is half as fun to watch as it was to make, I think maybe we’ve got a shot,” she said.

Gerwig has since become the first solo female director with a billion-dollar movie. (“Barbie” was produced by Warner Bros. Pictures, which like CNN is part of Warner Bros. Discovery.)

She also revealed she is in the “process of writing” at the moment, although she didn’t reveal exactly what the project was. She is set to direct two “Narnia” movies, based on C.S. Lewis’ “The Chronicles of Narnia” book series.
